A weekend of firsts.
An incredibly busy time over the last few months. I have just published a book on Art Busking and am getting ready for my very first Art Busking gig at Warwick Art Festival. All very exciting, even more so as I've never done it before on this scale, and the festival organisers haven't really heard of it before.
Here is a picture of us (that's Chrissy and Jen - my helpers who I could not do without) sorting our gazebo ready for the weekend.
On Friday 28th July, I'm running a workshop at the festival - again a first for me - just taking all my easels, materials and hoping to entice a few buskers who want to be immortalised in paint!
Over the weekend, I'll be painting a long canvas of buskers so that by the Sunday, I should be in a position to donate to the Festival. I really would like to thank the wonderful "Picturesque art store in Warwick for donating the canvas. (http://www.picturesque-warwick.co.uk/home/)
Then on Sunday 30th July, my official book launch takes place at the Catalan Tapas Bar at Warwick. There will also be an exhibition pf some originals and lovely prints by Mikey Cunnane of Gingers the Art of Print (http://www.gingertheartofprint.co.uk). I am so happy with the results as they are more than just a reproduction. I am overwhelmed with the support I received in doing the book From the initial kick fro my old friend Steve Boyer; Guidance and a mentoring steer from Ian Haywood; The venue and encouragement from Malcolm Cook(Owner of the Catalan) and Superb editing and support from my wife, panel maker and all round fabulous person (also my key Quality Assurance Manager) Chrissy. I want to also tank my old mate Ciprano Ponti (Cyppo) for writing an amazing forward. You can order the book by the link on the banner on the right. In the meantime here is what it's about:
